Selection
After the March 1, 2022 application deadline, PHEAA will review all on-time applicants for eligibility.
The total number of eligible applicants will be calculated for the entire state as well as by region based on the county of residence. Regions are illustrated in the map below.
Each region will receive a percentage of the available funding based on the percentage of eligible applicants in that region divided by total eligible applicants in the state.
Example: If 10% of the eligible applicants reside in the Philadelphia region, Philadelphia will receive 10% of the funding.
Within each region, applicants will be randomly selected until funds are exhausted. If additional funding becomes available in that region, the next eligible candidate will be selected.
Applicants selected for participation in the program will be sent communication advising they have been selected, requesting they provide documentation validating their loan information, and that PHEAA will be contacting their employers to verify employment information.
Applicants not selected for participation in the program will be sent communication advising they have not been selected at this time.
