PHEAA and PA Forward Student Loan Program Webinar Events
There are many ways to pay for education and one important step is to search and apply for scholarships. More free money equals less borrowing. This presentation will review the types of options available, along with tips of applying. It will also offer samples of fun scholarship options to get you started. We will then review what to do about the balances that might be left over to make affordable higher education decisions. Join Suzanne Sparrow, Daniel Wray, and William McGinley from PHEAA for an hour of detailed information on this topic.
TIME: Noon-1:00 PM (ET)
I have found the schools I would like to attend, filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) and State Grant Form, searched for scholarships, researched higher education costs, and calculated the funding gap. I see that education loans are a necessity, but where do I go from here? What loan programs are available? What are the advantages and disadvantage of the various types? Join Suzanne Sparrow, Daniel Wray, and William McGinley of PHEAA for a 1-hour webinar to review the different borrowing options and examine the details associated with each option. The PHEAA loan team will answer your questions as you sort out the information and make decisions that are right for you and your family.
TIME: 6:30-7:30 PM (ET)
Please join Suzanne Sparrow, Dan Wray, and Will McGinley of PHEAA and their special guest, Jolene Miraglia of the Pennsylvania Treasury (PA529.com), for this extremely informative webinar. Learn how to plan for financial success as you seek a postsecondary education with an extra emphasis on saving via a 529 Plan. This webinar also briefly covers best practices (such as seeking grants and scholarships first), the primary methods of keeping school related debt to a minimum, and additional resources (such as school-based tuition payment plans). The webinar discusses private education loans as a last resort.

Webinar Series with ECYEH
PHEAA and Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) will collaborate on a webinar series about PA students experiencing homelessness. Join PHEAA and ECYEH representatives as they unpack the meaning of “homelessness” and provide resources to help students navigate life beyond high school.
Obtaining a postsecondary education is crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and it sets the stage for a healthy, meaningful, and successful life. However, young people experiencing homelessness and those in foster care encounter obstacles entering postsecondary education. This presentation provides attendees with valuable tips and resources to help ease the transition from high school to higher education. This event is hosted by Tiffanie DeVan from PHEAA and a representative from ECYEH.
