Workshops
In our effort to provide counselors and teachers with the tools students need to reach their educational goals, we offer free workshops.
Workshops for Elementary and Middle School Counselors/Teachers
PHEAA is available to conduct workshops on career exploration using EducationPlanner.org. This free, award-winning website is designed for counselors, teachers, parents, and students in grades 8 to 12, as well as nontraditional students. Through its six main areas—Discovering, Preparing, Selecting, Deciding, Applying, and Paying—EducationPlanner.org offers:
- A scholarship search
- A postsecondary school search (including nursing schools)
- Career assessment tools
- Guidance on resume writing
- Test prep for the SAT and ACT
- A college-bound reading list
- A learning style quiz
- Tips for parents and counselors
If your school—or several schools in your region—would like to schedule a career exploration workshop, please contact the Regional Office that serves your school. All counselors and teachers who attend receive Act 48 credits.
Workshops for High School Counselors/Teachers
PHEAA and PASFAA (The Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) cosponsor annual workshops every November at locations across Pennsylvania. All counselors and teachers who attend a workshop receive Act 48 credits.
